Digital Ecology Lab Arduino Presentation
Tuesday 12 November, 10 to 4pm. Old city library, Civic Place, 81-83 Katoomba St, Katoomba.

A five hour presentation and hands on demonstration of the Arduino IDE (Integrated Development Environment) along with a detailed look at the Arduino programmable circuit board (PCB) also referred to as a microcontroller. A prototype Motor/Light/Sensor/Sound project is presented and demonstrates the use of an Ultrasonic Range Finder to trigger a diffused white 10mm LED, a small 6V DC Motor and a Mono 16 Bit, 22,050 Khz WAV audio file. The prototype demonstrates the use of a number of electronic components including an Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller, an Adafruit Wave Shield for Arduino Kit (v1.1) and a LV-MaxSonar-EZ1 High Performance Sonar Range Finder. Complete workshop notes are provided to all participants who are encouraged to develop a small scale project with the technology. A follow up one on one session with each participant is encouraged if a project is in development.
