Description: Standing within this historic mural painted on the Medlow Bath bus stop a young man waits, patiently reading. Is he waiting to be transported away or is she his tennis partner on the court waiting for their game to begin?

About:
For 2023 the format for this work is a diptych (2 hinged panel). Dimensions 390mm W x 127mm H. The completed artwork is folded and wax-sealed for the exhibition opening. Once a bid was placed on the artwork the wax seal was allowed to be broken, revealing the artwork inside. Bidding then continues as per previous Collectors’ Edition fundraisers. At the conclusion of the exhibition the highest bidder on each artwork gets to purchase the work, with all proceeds going to the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre Collection Acquisition Fund.
In 2023 the Cultural Centre is seeking to purchase two major artworks for the Collection. Video work, The Running of the Eels (2022), and blown glass sculptures, Ngalawan – We Live, We Remain: The Call of Ngurra (Country) 2022, by respected Dharug artist, Leanne Tobin. Tobin is a multidisciplinary artist of Irish, English and Aboriginal heritage who has positively impacted local communities and institutions through her tireless activism and collaboration. Her art practice seeks to encourage an open and honest dialogue about the past and to nurture, respect and care for Country.

Description: The old twin engine fighter dives down towards the dome atop the Hydro Majestic Hotel in Medlow Bath, Blue Mountains. The pilot has ejected, just hanging on to the tower as lights flicker inside a hotel full of unsuspecting occupants. What is about to happen? …

About: The artwork is produced for the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre’s Collectors’ Edition #8. The collected works for this exhibition take the format of an A5 sized artwork on board, each being for sale via silent auction. At the conclusion of the exhibition the highest bidder on each artwork gets to purchase the work, with all proceeds going to the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre Collection Acquisition Fund. In 2022 the fund is seeking to purchase a work by prominent local artist Anne Graham.

Description: A small T-light illuminated mixed media assemblage. The old twin engine fighter dives towards the Kandos landscape while small lights flicker inside the houses of the unsuspecting occupants … This work sold at auction for $560.00. It fetched the highest bid of the five finalists and 107 exhibited works for the Collectors’ Edition #5, 2018

The annual fundraising exhibition Collectors’ Edition has become a highlight of the Blue Mountains City Art Gallery’s calendar, with a great response from both artists and bidders. The sale of works in the previous four exhibitions contributed over $63,000 towards the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre Collection Acquisition Fund.
